It was important for the brand to be unique in it’s own way and to differentiate from its competitors. So, we started from the logo and color scheme.
Logo is symbolism of two people shaking their hands as the parallel for successful exchange between two companies. On the other hand, it consists of primary and secondary color - two colors with solid contrast. From that point, we started building our color scheme. Of course, having done an initial version of design helped us fulfill and spread the color scheme, so the brand book was updated during the process as well.
As there were only indirect competitors in the targeted area - Serbia, we decided to include one direct competitor from another country - Swop.it to our competitive analysis.
Indirect competitors products are based on bidding or selling different products, and not on products exchange. Another difference is that anyone can sell products on competitors platforms.
After competitive analysis was done, we got clear picture of our competition, as well as what are their strengths and weaknesses.
It helped our team decide which features we could add, what could be done different and even better, and which mistakes we should be aware of.
Our target group were local entrepreneurs. We knew a few things about them from the beginning, but it was about time to get to know their personality and work habits. So, user interviewing came in handy.
At the end, we got a user persona who is in the middle ages and not so much into modern technology. They use mobile phones for calling and writing messages for the most part. They usually use laptop for accessing different web apps and websites. When it comes to business, our user persona has a trustworthy circle of people who they collaborate with. They would like to try something new ("Trampa" app for example), but only if someone from that circle recommends it to them.
After this part of the research was done, lots of things were crystal clear and obvious to our team, when it comes to our next steps.
As the product was in it’s early stage and schedule was tight for the initial version, low-fidelity design was simply the right thing to do. App colors were not defined at that point.
During this stage, lots of A/B and usability testings were done.
So, the current product’s look came as the result of upgrading initial version through research, testing and designing.
